Location: Bergerac • Dordogne • Nouvelle Aquitaine
After 11 years of love, laughter, and life together, this couple chose Domaine de la Fauconnie, tucked away in Bergerac, as the setting for their long-awaited wedding day. Having met at university back in 2013 during a 21st birthday night out, their story has travelled across the world — from dance floors to South America, to the rooftop of a Copacabana restaurant where the proposal took place. Life brought them a daughter and a pause through the pandemic, until they finally celebrated their wedding, and they did so surrounded by joy, music, and a venue that captured everything they envisioned. With an international guest list, accessibility was key, and Bergerac offered just that — a charming destination with strong travel connections and the relaxed elegance they were looking for.
Soft Blues, Happy Tunes, and a Dress with Movement
The couple drew inspiration from Mamma Mia, aiming for a day that felt full of joy, music, and warm rustic charm — balanced by Arinze’s love of simplicity and classic touches. Domaine de la Fauconnie’s soft blue shutters were the perfect nod to the theme, even if the sun didn’t shine. The bride wore the Lika dress by Eva Lendel, a design that gave her the best of both worlds. The Lika struck the perfect balance: a sleek, structured fit with a detachable overskirt that added just the right amount of drama. It allowed her to make a soft outfit change later in the evening, stepping into the dance floor with ease while keeping the look true to her original vision.
Instead of a traditional gift list, they chose Prezola, inviting guests to contribute to their honeymoon fund — a thoughtful choice that respected the cost and effort already made by those attending a destination wedding.
Planning with Heart and a Team That Listened
Planning from afar can be daunting, but the couple credit Perfect Day by Karen for turning their ideas into something truly meaningful. Karen supported them through every twist and turn of wedding planning, offering patience, encouragement, and a steady hand. She listened closely, remembered their original vision, and pulled all the details together with love and care. From the very first meeting to the days following the wedding, she was fully invested in making their day feel true to them. Their memories were beautifully captured by Frances Mary Sales, whose warm, documentary style brought every emotion and quiet detail to life.
