Starting this week with the first of our real weddings and I have a Basque Country wedding for your today for chic and gorgeous Parisian couple Anne and Gatean.
Anne’s family are from the South of France so they decided to get married in this stunning Basque Country, at the frontier with the Spain.
Wedding Photographer Peggy from Maison Pestea takes us through their big day: “The day began with so many issues for Anne because of the bad weather and some crazy problems with the national train company. A group of their closest friends was stuck at the station in Paris because of the storm.
But Anne was not a bridezilla at all. She took everything in her stride and continued on with her bridal preparations with her bridemaids. Anne chose a custom dress with lace details by the Parisian designer Laure de Sagazan and designed her own shoes on internet.
We took advantage of the time before the ceremony to capture a first look and couple shots. The first look was a tender and funny moment, perfect to relax and be happy together. Following the ceremony in a large church nearby, the couple exited to a cascade of bubbles, which the children had great fun with. With a vintage tone to the wedding day, the couple departed the church in a vintage 2CV car.
During the cocktail hour, the couple and their guests relaxed into the celebrations which included good food and good wine, which is so important. Family and friends took full advantage of the photo booth, adding to the relaxed and rustic atmosphere.
Fresh flowers, candles and pictures decorated the reception tables and watering cans filled with blooms added colour and rustic charm to the venue. During the dinner, the best men, the bridemaids and friends had some surprises for the happy couple, with slideshow presentations, dance and speeches. The celebrations continued into the night, dancing until dawn with the helpful energy of good french champagne.”
