What We Love

Les Herbes Hautes is the floral studio of Hélène Préchac, a wedding florist based in Nantes. Most of her weddings take place at wedding venues in the Loire Valley, in Brittany and along the Atlantic coast. She treats flowers as part of the story rather than decoration, building each design around the couple and the place. Seasonal, locally grown blooms sit at the heart of everything she makes.

Style

Her work is organic and grounded in nature, shaped by movement, texture and the rhythm of the seasons. Floral designs are never repeated, so each wedding carries its own character rather than a house formula. A background in landscape architecture informs floral settings that feel connected to the ground on which they stand. The aim is floral scenography that belongs to the venue as much as it does to the day.

Experience

Hélène trained as a landscape architect, then retrained as a florist in 2013 and founded Les Herbes Hautes soon after. Since then she has designed flowers for weddings throughout France, from intimate gatherings to large destination celebrations. One is a French countryside wedding at the Dîme de Giverny, photographed by destination wedding photographer Lagant Weddings. She is a member of the Collectif de la Fleur Française, and her work has been featured across wedding blogs.

Sustainability runs through every choice she makes. Hélène prioritises seasonal, locally grown flowers wherever possible and designs without floral foam, using reusable mechanics such as metal wire and kenzans in its place to minimise waste. She works with a local ceramic artist who creates bespoke handcrafted vases for her floral designs, and has recently begun growing some of her own favourite flowers.
