Riviera Spritz on the Atlantic at Villa Arthus-Bertrand
A styled editorial at Villa Arthus-Bertrand, Noirmoutier: a poolside spritz fountain, papaya and citrus, tropical-inspired florals and vows by the villa.
A tower of spritz-filled coupes, orange Dior heels and a wedding cake covered in orange petals brought the colours of the Riviera to Villa Arthus-Bertrand on the island of Noirmoutier. Set off the Atlantic coast of the Vendée, in the Loire region, the villa has a stone façade, palm trees, a swimming pool and gardens that were deep green by the end of spring, which puts it among the wedding venues in France with a pool we feature.
For this editorial, Plume Event arranged the ceremony in front of the villa, cocktails on the terrace and dinner beneath the trees. Orange flowers and tropical foliage appeared throughout, and papayas, citrus fruit and bananas were used alongside the tableware. Mirrored serving pieces, clear chairs and glassware completed the white-and-orange design.
Stéphanie and Paul represented the imagined couple. Morgane Caulle photographed the editorial, Plume Event planned the day and led the ceremony, and Atelier Pennfoll created the flowers.
Getting Ready

The preparations began beside the swimming pool, where orange suede heels, a pearl necklace and a glass of spritz were arranged at the water's edge. A pearl drop earring lay beside half a papaya, and the orange heels appeared again against white bed linen.
The team imagined a wedding morning with time for a drink beneath the palms before getting dressed, though the same poolside setting could also be used for a brunch the following day. Stéphanie's pearl jewellery came from Maison Salvat and Atelier Ludovica Andrina. Paul wore a tuxedo by Father and Sons, and his preparations took place beside the villa's stone walls and tall glazed doors.
Ceremony

The ceremony was arranged on the lawn directly in front of Villa Arthus-Bertrand's main façade. Rows of transparent chairs faced the couple, with orange flowers and tropical foliage placed along the aisle and around the ceremony setting. The stone walls and palm trees remained visible behind them.
Atelier Pennfoll combined seasonal flowers with tropical-inspired varieties, using orange blooms and greenery throughout the arrangements. Stéphanie carried an orange-and-green bouquet, and Plume Event led the ceremony as celebrant. The flowers continued into the cocktail and dinner settings later in the editorial.
Bridal Portraits

Stéphanie wore a strapless satin gown by Les Filles Fidèles, with orange Dior heels providing the strongest colour in her bridal look. The shoes appeared alongside orange ranunculus and small yellow fruit in the garden.
The styling also called for an Hermès scarf and sunglasses by the pool, drawing on the Riviera references used throughout the editorial. Laila Beauty Hair and Allimakeup Studio created her hair and makeup, keeping the look natural and luminous.
The bridal portraits also extended to the beach at sunset, where Stéphanie wore her satin gown against the Atlantic shoreline.
Couple Portraits

Stéphanie and Paul moved between the villa's gardens, stone façade and outdoor tables for their portraits. They sat together at the reception table, embraced beneath the palm trees and returned to the tall glazed doors set into the villa's stone walls.
The beach provided another setting later in the day. At sunset, Paul went barefoot on the sand and sprayed champagne as Stéphanie raised her arms beside him, bringing the editorial beyond the villa gardens and onto the Noirmoutier coast.
Cocktail Hour

Cocktails were arranged on the terrace beside the swimming pool, with a tower of spritz-filled coupes as the centrepiece. Orange slices and ice filled the glasses, and bottles of Aperol stood nearby. Stéphanie and Paul poured drinks together beside the villa's stone façade, with musician Lexbak providing the music.
Lorine Hennebelle prepared the canapés, serving them on mirrored tiles arranged with orange napkins in a checkerboard pattern. Green bananas and a white vase completed the display, repeating the tropical fruit used elsewhere in the editorial.
Reception

Dinner was set in the gardens beneath the trees, with white linen covering the tables and transparent chairs arranged around them. Papayas, citrus fruit, bananas and tropical foliage were used alongside orange flowers, and Brest Location Receptions supplied the tableware.
The wedding cake took a different form from a traditional tiered design. A long, low sheet cake was covered with orange petals and presented on a white board on the lawn. Stéphanie and Paul stood behind it for the cake-cutting setting, with the villa visible in the background.
Design and Details

White and orange ran through the editorial, with green supplied by tropical foliage, bananas and other fruit. Atelier Pennfoll used orange flowers in the ceremony arrangements and on the dinner tables, including individual ranunculus displayed in glass cubes with moss and citrus.
Papeterie Domani created the stationery, with printed menus and name cards placed on white linen beside orange napkins, citrus fruit and candles. A white fabric seating banner hanging from a tree carried the words "Love, but make it Spritz", and an orange welcome sign for Stéphanie and Paul stood beneath a parasol near the villa's steps.
Mirrored tiles appeared in the canapé presentation, and transparent chairs, clear glassware and glass floral containers were used throughout the reception setting. Orange carried through the flowers, stationery, fruit, spritz drinks and Stéphanie's Dior heels, which also appeared on the dinner table beside a slice of cake.
