Location: Avignon, Provence, South of France
For Hannah and Jullian, the artistic direction began like an old-fashioned love letter with the motif “Dear Love.” This journey started with a classic civil ceremony at the City Hall of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés before traveling south to Domaine Le Grand Belly, an exceptional wedding venue near Avignon. The concept of “Dear Love” acted as a narrative thread, physically manifesting as fabric throughout the decor. A long white cloth bearing those words hung from a 500-year-old oak tree, marking the beginning of their story in a setting that felt both natural and sacred. Charlotte from Rhapsody Planner, a luxury wedding planning agency in Europe ensured the theme of an enveloping textile scene remained intact, using soft lengths of fabric cascading from the garden house and a pleated head table to bring movement and texture to the historic surroundings.

Danielle Frankel Couture and Modern Florals
The visual aesthetic was a study in texture, perfectly embodied by Hannah’s choice of the Rainey gown by Danielle Frankel. The strapless design, crafted from pleated and hand-crinkled silk wool, featured a dipped neckline and fluid draping that twisted around her body before releasing into a train. Paired with a matching Danielle Frankel veil, her look harmonized with the ceremony’s organic vision of birth and renewal. A curved aisle guided the way through clusters of ornamental grasses, amaranths, and hydrangeas that rose from the earth. The chuppah stood as a “vegetal waterfall” of foliage and dark red celosias and dahlias, framed by asymmetric columns that blended into the flowing drapery, creating a moment that felt guided by nature itself.
Film Photography and Atmospheric Shifts at Le Grand Belly
Tatiana Braoun, a talented destination wedding photographer in the South of France approached the day with a documentary eye, using film to capture the “in-between” moments and the honest beauty of the celebration. The event required grace and flexibility as the weather shifted from a 40°C heatwave to unexpected rain, prompting Rhapsody Planner to seamlessly move the dinner indoors. Here, the atmosphere transformed into a warm, intimate world lit only by candlelight. In contrast to the grounded weight of the ceremony, the reception tables featured an ikebana spirit, where asparagus fern and cotinus created a vaporous, floating sensation. A large, textured floral arrangement anchored the bar, while the room settled into a mood somewhere between a dream and a memory—a true declaration of love.
