A Poolside Styled Shoot at a Luberon Convent
A poolside styled shoot in the Luberon: shells, coconut and orchids at Couvent Notre-Dame des Prés, designed and photographed by Florine Jeannot.

Florine Jeannot works as both a wedding photographer in Provence and an art director, and for this editorial at Couvent Notre-Dame des Prés, near Reillanne in the Luberon, she did both jobs at once. She built the shoot around one idea: a set of materials borrowed from the sea, brought inland to a Provençal convent and gathered around its pool.
That idea runs through the whole set. Shells turn up in the styling and again in the macarons. Coconut appears in the cocktails. Orchids carry the same reference into the florals.
Her own brief asked for "effortless elegance, sun-soaked intimacy and chic South of France summer energy". Out on the terrace that meant wrought iron seating set along the water, and late afternoon light running to golden hour.

Aure and Leo are models, so Florine was shooting a look rather than a day. That is why most of this section is the bridal look, and why there is a single frame of the two of them together.
Lace and sheer fabric over a structured corset, satin shoes, and pearls worked into the makeup beneath a sleek bun. The pearls come from the same place as the shells.
She shot it in composed poses that echo the architecture, in full sun.

Coconut cocktails, and macarons shaped like shells. Both carry the same materials from the styling onto the menu. The seating is wrought iron, set at the poolside under open sky, so guests would eat at the water's edge with the late light coming down the length of it. We have gathered more wedding venues with a pool in Provence if that is the shape you are after.

The palette was narrow, and it held. Neutral tones, linen textures, draping and wrought iron seating, with orchids, shell accents and coconut repeating throughout.
The florals carry most of the idea. Florine describes the bouquet as asymmetrical and 1940s in reference, built on sculptural stems with orchids, shell accents and coconut. Shells and coconut then return at a smaller scale in the details, in the macarons and the paper goods.

The convent stands in open countryside outside Reillanne, in the Luberon. Florine gives the setting as stone architecture, cypress trees and a serene poolside.
The pool is the part that changes how the place works. She treated it as the central scene rather than a backdrop, and set the wrought iron seating at its edge.
If you are weighing up the Couvent Notre-Dame des Prés wedding venue, this shoot shows what the poolside can carry. It is worth asking the owners what the water side of the property allows on a real wedding day, and how that compares with wedding locations across Provence where the building leads instead.
