Histoire d'Amour: Pomegranates and Love Letters in the Gers
A burgundy and white styled shoot at Château de Savignac-Mona in the Gers, built around books, love letters and pomegranates by Mon Bonheur Photos.
Books and handwritten words run through Histoire d'Amour from the first preparations to dinner. Gabriel's bow tie and boutonnière rest on a stack of old volumes, vows are read from velvet books, a French poem hangs behind the ceremony, and in the library the opening lines of a love letter are projected across the shelves.
Pomegranates fill the tables. Whole and halved fruit sit among the place settings, seeds fill small silver bowls and short printed notes are tucked between them. Burgundy calla lilies, anthuriums and menu cards add the same dark red to linen and candlelight, a palette chosen, in the team's words, for "warmth, romance, and classic refinement".
Charlotte and Sofien of Mon Bonheur Photos created the editorial, with design by L'instant M Événements. Manon and Gabriel play a couple stepping away from everyday life to marry quietly in a château, with Suzanne and Lea as their bridesmaids.
The setting is Château de Savignac-Mona, a brick château in the Gers a few kilometres from Toulouse. Inside are terracotta and cream tiled floors, pale walls, leaded windows, wood panelling and a library. For anyone comparing wedding venues in Occitanie or Toulouse wedding venues, Histoire d'Amour is built from vow books, a poem on fabric, pomegranates and a pile of old books.

Gabriel's black shawl-collar tuxedo, from Blandin & Delloye in Toulouse, hung beside one of the château's leaded windows. Below it, his shoes sat on a carved wooden stool, and his bow tie and orchid boutonnière rested on a stack of leather-bound books.
With Suzanne and Lea beside her, already in their satin gowns, Manon touched her pearl earrings from La Maison Gisel B. Elodie Huguet did her makeup, and Marion C Coiffure swept her hair into a low twist, leaving the long scarf of her halter-neck gown clear at the back.

The ceremony was arranged in one of the salons, on a terracotta and cream tiled floor. In place of an arch, a sheer fabric panel hung over the carved fireplace, printed with a French poem that begins "Il est des rencontres". Dark flowers and pomegranates were laid at floor level beneath it.
Manon and Gabriel stood between the two, reading their vows from small velvet books, while Suzanne and Lea waited on either side in deep red satin. Above them were the printed words, at their feet the fruit and flowers, and in their hands the vows themselves.

Manon's gown is by Emi & Linda: an ivory column with a high halter neckline, an open back and a slit at the front, its long scarf falling behind her. She carried a low bouquet of white and burgundy calla lilies with pale pink orchids, by leaded windows and a marble fireplace.
Her jewellery came from La Maison Gisel B and her rings from Joaillerie Mohedano. One ring is set with a deep red stone, close in colour to the pomegranates on the dinner tables and the calla lilies in her hands.

In the library, the opening lines of a love letter were projected across the bookshelves, the old wooden doors and the couple themselves. Gabriel bent to kiss Manon as she knelt on the sofa beneath the words, and against another wall the handwriting fell across their faces and shoulders.
Elsewhere in the château, they walked side by side along the candlelit dinner table, her bouquet held low. Against the wood panelling, his arm circled her waist, her hand resting on his, a pearl bracelet at her wrist and a pink orchid pinned to his lapel.

Suzanne and Lea wore deep red satin: strapless gowns with a full flounce at the waist, each carrying a single white calla lily tied with a pink orchid and a long ribbon. They walked the château's gallery on either side of Manon, past open shutters and terracotta floors. For a second look they changed into short velvet dresses in the same colour, each with a plate of wedding cake.

For the champagne, Manon changed into a short textured dress. A tower of coupes stood on a small round table draped to the floor in front of a marble fireplace. She poured the champagne into the top glass and let it run down through the tiers while Gabriel stood beside her, and then the two of them leant in to drink from the top.

Dinner was laid on long tables dressed in linen to the floor, with tall tapers in silver holders running between low floral arrangements. Cut-crystal glasses and a menu card sat at every place. Manon and Gabriel took their seats with Suzanne and Lea and raised their glasses across the candlelit table.
The cake, by Au Pays de Cyndie, has five tiers covered in sugar petals, with burgundy calla lilies climbing one side. It stood in a shell-topped alcove inside the château, where Manon and Gabriel cut it together, laughing as the knife went in.

Pomegranates bring most of the colour to the table. Whole and halved fruit sit beside the tableware, loose seeds fill small silver bowls, and red currants spill around candles wrapped in white fabric and tied with a ribbon lettered "Romantic". Agence Theresia kept the flowers low and sparse along the linen: anthuriums and calla lilies with pale pink cymbidium orchids and wild grasses.
Small printed notes are tucked into the fruit. One bowl of seeds holds the words "She said yes", with the wedding rings resting among them; others read "I love you" and "So this is love". Menu cards have deckled edges, and each place card is finished in calligraphy.

Miminhos Rita Catita designed the stationery: an invitation with a line drawing of the château, and two velvet vow books titled "Mes vœux pour Manon" and "Mes vœux pour Gabriel". They were arranged with Manon's cream heeled mules, pearl earrings and ring box.
Gabriel's details were laid out the same way. His bow tie, a bottle of cologne and his wedding band lie on the open pages of a printed volume, and another arrangement places his orchid boutonnière and bow tie on a stack of leather-bound books.
