A wedding is nothing without friends and family, but we shouldn’t forget about our furry friends. Today we’re looking at the wedding of a Claire Mischevani bride. A lovely couple from Worcestershire planned their destination wedding in France.
Marry me in france did a splendid job organizing the wedding. Balance Photography perfectly captured the beautiful moments of this couple’s happiest day of their lives. But the bride wanted to tell you the backstory of their love and the tale of her wedding. So take it away Claire.
One month into my new job, I was deep in thought familiarizing myself with all these new systems on my work computer when my manager approached me with a tall dark, and handsome Gentleman. “Claire, meet Tom – our new sales rep” Tom was very smartly dressed in a navy suit, tie, white shirt and dark hair. He immediately gave me a warm welcome with his confident character and charming personality… That’s where it all began.
We had been dating for a few years when we bought our first house. A characterful cottage with plenty of work to do in the Worcestershire countryside! It was here that Tom popped the question with a beautiful diamond engagement ring that he had designed himself. He very sensibly used our Labrador Retriever, Ozzie, to carry the ring for the proposal. Thinking I wouldn’t say no to the dog! This was not the last time that Ozzie would bare the rings!
Having spent a large proportion of my childhood holidays in France, at our family home in Brittany. I had quite a soft spot for the country. With our joint love of the countryside and big fans of good food and wine. France just seemed to tick all of the boxes for us. We decided the South of France (in the wine region!). Was where we wanted our wedding. A Fairytale Chateau wedding is what many people dream of and this is exactly what we got!
We exchanged our vows In front of the magnificent Chateau Charmant in the heart of the Dordogne. Ozzie was a part of the ceremony and bared the wedding rings, much to the amusement of our guests! Our friends and family were blown away by the incredible location and we were blessed with beautiful weather. My dress suited the venue perfectly and was designed and made by the Shropshire and London based designer, Claire Mischevani. She perfectly captured my style and it fitted beautifully! Following our ceremony, we enjoyed celebratory drinks and Canapes in front of the chateau from a purpose-built Prosecco van in the theme of a French Boulangerie. It created a great backdrop for selfies for our guests!
Dinner was served in the new barn, an impressive wide staircase leads you up to a Modern but rustic barn. Exactly what we wanted. Following dinner our band, high jinx started to begin to kick the night off! They were brilliant and provided entertainment throughout the evening. We had a short break for outdoor photos at around 10 pm. We followed the guests outside were blown away with all of the outdoor light around the back of the Chateau – It was simply breathtaking, something we will never forget.
We partied until the early hours. We were lucky to have another day at the chateau the following day to nurse the hangovers at the poolside again surrounded by our guests and talk about all of the excitement of the day before.
Our wedding planner, Julie, made everything run so very smoothly for us. I didn’t realize arranging a wedding abroad could be so simple! Her contacts with the caterers and with the Wine Merchants proved invaluable. Such high-quality food and drink without a huge price tag. Beth at Marry Me in France really understood what we were looking for and arranged a trip for us to look at venus around 18 months prior.
Lastly, we have to give a huge thank you to our photographers, Rachel and Oliver from Balance Photography who flew in from Marbella to capture the most incredible moments of our day and ensure we can treasure those memories for years to come. We cannot recommend a destination wedding enough – it was truly spectacular and we wouldn’t change a thing!
