About the Venue

Château Les Carrasses is a 19th-century wine estate located in the Languedoc region of southern France, around 30 minutes from Béziers. Built in 1886 by architect Louis Garros on the site of an old pilgrims' relay, the château was restored and reopened in 2011 as a vineyard estate and holiday destination.

The estate spans 155 acres of active vineyards and countryside, with wide views stretching to the Pyrenees. It is owned and operated by Domaine & Demeure, a company focused on restoring historic buildings with respect for their original character and the surrounding environment. Château Les Carrasses is available for exclusive-use weddings and events, accommodating up to 90 guests on site.

With a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, a Mediterranean climate, and a setting away from busy tourist areas, it is ideal for couples looking for a private, flexible venue with a relaxed but polished atmosphere.

The estate can accommodate up to 90 guests across 30 residences, including suites, apartments, and villas. These are located within the château and its restored outbuildings, such as former stables and cottages. Many of the accommodations feature private terraces, gardens, or pools. Interiors include modern kitchens, comfortable living areas, and neutral tones paired with local materials such as stone and wood.

Options range from one-bedroom studios to three-bedroom villas, making the estate suitable for both couples and larger groups. Pricing varies by season, from €170 to €310 per night, and a two-night minimum stay applies in June and September.

Amenities:

Château Les Carrasses offers a wide range of facilities including an infinity pool with vineyard views, a tennis court, pétanque pitch, and walking and cycling trails. There is an on-site bar, restaurant, and options for private dining. The estate also offers wellness activities such as yoga, vineyard spa treatments, and forest walks.

Weddings are supported by an in-house planning team. Services include coordination, menu tastings, staffing, furniture, sound equipment, and printed materials. The venue provides indoor and outdoor spaces for ceremonies, receptions, and post-wedding gatherings. Décor and catering can be tailored to suit a range of wedding styles.

Ceremony & Reception Spaces The estate offers several distinct locations for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and other events:

• La Serre Glasshouse: A 19th-century conservatory, believed to be designed by Gustave Eiffel. This indoor space has ironwork frames and glass walls that make it suitable year-round.
• Panoramic Terrace: Overlooks vineyards and the Pyrenees. It’s commonly used for receptions or outdoor dining.
• Restaurant Terrace: Positioned beside the pool and facing the vines. The staircase from the château provides a dramatic entrance for the couple.
• La Salle des Chais: A converted wine cellar now used for evening receptions, with soft lighting and space for dining and dancing.
• Mediterranean Gardens: Offer a quiet setting for drinks, photos, or a relaxed ceremony.
• Grand Salon: Used for bridal preparation when available. It overlooks the estate.
• BBQ Lawn: Hosts welcome dinners or post-wedding meals under the trees.

Getting there

From Paris: The most efficient way to reach the estate from Paris is by TGV train to Béziers (around 4 hours). From there, Château Les Carrasses is a 30-minute drive by car or private transfer. The estate is also accessible by car via the A9 motorway heading south through Occitanie.

From London: Guests can fly from London to Béziers Cap d'Agde Airport, which takes under two hours. The château is 35 minutes from the airport by road. Alternatively, Eurostar passengers can travel via Paris and transfer to a TGV to Béziers, with the full journey taking around 6.5 to 7 hours.
