Set against the rolling hills and sun-soaked stone villages of the Charente region, Rachael and Guy’s wedding at Manoir de Longeveau , a stunning retreat in the heart of Dordogne, was the definition of relaxed French romance. Traveling from the UK with their nearest and dearest, they turned their destination celebration into a full weekend of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Think warm summer air, soft white florals, and a setting straight out of a storybook.
Rachael & Guy Said “I Do” in a Church Carved from Stone.
The couple’s ceremony took place at the breathtaking Monolithic Church of Saint-Jean in nearby Aubeterre-sur-Dronne. Carved into a cliffside and dating back to the 12th century, this ancient church created a magical, almost otherworldly atmosphere. Rachael walked down the aisle in a stunning off-the-shoulder gown by Ingrid Olic Bridal, with her long veil delicately floating behind her. Guy, dashing in a tailored tuxedo from Roy Robson Fashion, couldn’t stop smiling.
The altar was framed with soft, organic floral arrangements by Les Fleurs Coupées, bringing a gentle touch of romance to the raw stone setting. As vows were exchanged under candlelight, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. It was intimate, meaningful, and utterly breathtaking.
Alfresco Dining & Laid-Back Luxury
Following the ceremony, guests gathered in the heart of the village for champagne and sunshine before making their way back to the charming wedding venue. There, a beautiful courtyard dinner awaited—long tables set under glowing string lights, with pale linens, simple florals, and elegant place settings curated by Our Fabulous Things. The atmosphere felt like a chic garden party with a French twist.
The entire day was flawlessly brought together by Robbie Wei of Marry Me in France, whose attention to detail and calm presence made the planning feel effortless. Personal touches—like custom table names inspired by the couple’s favorite UK spots—made the celebration feel warm and uniquely theirs.
Behind the lens, Bowness Photography captured every heartfelt moment. From quiet looks between the couple to joy-filled group shots on the steps, the images tell the story of a day full of beauty, soul, and connection.
Guy and Rachael’s wedding at Manoir de Longeveau wasn’t just a celebration—it was a joyful escape, a little slice of magic in the French countryside.
