Bridal Portraits

A group portrait of approximately nine women and one small child posing together outdoors in a garden or wooded setting during what appears to be a wedding. The bride is visible near the center-right of the group, wearing a white strapless ball gown. The guests are dressed in a variety of colorful cocktail attire including a red dress, a teal maxi dress, a lavender ruffled dress, a black dress, and dark fitted pants with a black top. One woman seated on a white lounge chair holds a young toddler dressed in red and white. The group is arranged across two rows, with some women standing, some seated, and some crouching at the front. The composition is a wide portrait shot taken in natural daylight with a relaxed, candid posing style.
A couple portrait taken outdoors in a garden setting, with the bride and groom framed between dense hedges. The bride wears a strapless white gown with layered, ruffled organza skirt and holds a compact round bouquet of white hydrangeas with touches of dusty miller. The groom stands slightly behind her, wearing a navy blue suit with a light blue striped tie. Both are smiling toward the camera. The shot is a medium portrait with natural daylight, conveying a relaxed, candid mood.
A couple portrait shot from behind showing the bride and groom walking together along a garden path, with the bride's arm around the groom's back. The groom wears a navy blue suit and the bride wears a flowing ivory strapless gown with a long skirt that she is lifting slightly as she walks. The setting is an outdoor garden with trimmed box hedges and tall pampas grass flanking the path. The shot is a medium-distance portrait with a natural, candid feel, taken in daylight with soft, warm lighting.

The bride, radiant in her silk organza Carla Zampatti gown and Jimmy Choo shoes, posed against the farmhouse's meadow backdrop with the Pyrenees rising in the distance. Her effortless sophistication mirrored the relaxed tone of the celebration, each portrait capturing a natural poise. M and J Photography framed her against the Basque countryside's golden light and green fields.

Reception

A split image showing two detail shots from what appears to be a wedding reception in a rustic French interior. The left panel shows a small dining table set with a white embroidered tablecloth, wine glasses, and white chair covers in a stone-walled room with a window and fireplace mantel, styled in a classic country French aesthetic. The right panel is a close-up of a cheese course presented on a dark slate board, featuring several wedges of soft-rind cheese garnished with a sprig of rosemary and small red accents, shot with a shallow depth of field.
A black-and-white candid shot taken during a wedding reception, capturing the couple seated at the head table embracing and laughing together. The groom has his arms wrapped around the bride, who is wearing an off-the-shoulder dress and has her hair pinned up. The table is set with wine glasses, red wine, water bottles, and place settings with white linens. In the soft-focus background, approximately 8–10 guests are visible standing and seated at nearby tables, dressed in smart-casual attire. The image has strong contrast with bright highlights and mid-range tones, giving it a warm, documentary feel. The composition is a medium portrait shot at table level.
Close-up detail shot of two decorated wedding cakes or tarts displayed side by side in a diptych composition. On the left, a round red-glazed tart with a dark chocolate drizzle pattern and a small red flower garnish sits on a wooden cutting board with a knife beside it, with a person in white attire blurred in the background. On the right, two round yellow cakes decorated with white piped circular patterns and pink flower accents are displayed on bright pink fabric or tissue paper, with a tiered cake stand partially visible in the background. The styling appears colorful and festive with a vibrant, non-traditional palette.
Black-and-white portrait of a group of eight men, likely the groom and his groomsmen or male guests, posing and laughing together outdoors on what appears to be a tennis court. The men are dressed in a mix of dark and light suits with ties, in varying styles of smart-casual to formal attire. The image is taken from a medium distance and captures the group in a candid, relaxed moment with genuine laughter. In the background stands a large French manor-style villa with a steeply pitched roof, dormer windows, and decorative architectural detailing, slightly overexposed against a bright sky.

Tables styled in soft neutrals and natural textures filled the 16th-century farmhouse interior, echoing Domaine de Bassilour's rustic character. A chalkboard seating plan added a handmade quality while a wedding wish tree gathered personal notes from each guest. The evening flowed with conversation and laughter, the setting's warmth holding everyone close through dinner and beyond.

More from the Day

Close-up detail shot of a small floral arrangement sitting on a granite or stone countertop indoors. The arrangement is held in a white metal pot with a decorative laser-cut lace pattern around its upper edge. The flowers include cream hydrangeas, white blooms, green button-like buds, red-green hypericum berries, eucalyptus leaves, and mixed greenery. The overall palette is white, cream, and green with accents of deep red from the berries, suggesting a natural, garden-style floral aesthetic.
Close-up detail shot of a rustic wedding seating chart display created from a weathered, distressed wooden window frame with chalkboard panels replacing the glass panes. Guest names are written in white chalk script across multiple panes, organized by table names including 'Biarritz' and 'Annes,' with individual guest names listed beneath each heading. The worn, peeling paint on the wooden frame contributes to a rustic or boho styling aesthetic. The image is taken at a slight angle, emphasizing the texture and depth of the display.
The bride and groom share a kiss in a close-up portrait shot taken inside a chapel or church, with an ornate gilded altarpiece visible in the background featuring carved figures, columns, and painted decorative panels in gold, red, and cream tones. The bride wears a strapless white gown and a delicate bracelet, with her dark hair swept back, while the groom is dressed in a dark navy suit. They embrace closely, with her arm around his neck and his hand at her waist. The warm ambient lighting of the interior illuminates the scene, and soft bokeh in the foreground suggests the shot was taken through or past a decorative element.
Close-up detail shot of a decorative plate holding a collection of laser-engraved wooden wish tags, each featuring a floral motif and the word 'Wishes' in script, tied with narrow ivory satin ribbons. The tags are arranged loosely on a bed of natural raffia straw within a vintage-style plate with a blue and gold patterned rim. The styling is rustic with natural wood tones, ivory ribbon, and organic textures, likely part of a guest activity station at a reception. The background is softly blurred, showing a linen-covered surface.
