Set against the turquoise waters of Le Gosier, Leslie and Gilbert’s summer wedding was a radiant celebration of love, culture, and style in the heart of the French West Indies. Their vision — an all-white tropical chic wedding with refined African touches — came to life on the private beaches of Guadeloupe, a sun-soaked paradise where French elegance meets Caribbean rhythm. Friends and family travelled from across the world to celebrate their union, gathering beneath palm trees and soft ocean breezes. The result was a day that beautifully balanced modern sophistication with the vibrancy of both their heritages.

A Ceremony by the Sea and a Celebration in Style
The couple exchanged vows on a private beach, surrounded by a tropical floral arch and the soft rhythm of the sea. Leslie wore an elegant champagne-hued gown, a subtle contrast to the all-white palette of her guests, while Gilbert chose a tailored “French Riviera” suit with a navy vest. The celebration continued at La Résidence Départementale du Gosier, where a garden reception opened with champagne, steel band music, and laughter drifting through the palm-shaded courtyard. Later, guests gathered in the ballroom for a French-Caribbean dinner, blending island flavours with refined presentation — a true reflection of the couple’s cultural harmony.
Music, Dance, and Unforgettable Energy
As night fell, Leslie and Gilbert surprised their 200 guests with a vibrant Salsa-Samba first dance, complete with a costume change for the bride. The dance floor filled with French, Caribbean, and African rhythms, celebrating the diversity of their love story. Just after midnight, a passion fruit–flavoured wedding cake, glowing with sparklers, marked the sweetest moment of the evening. Smile and Shine Photography, one of the most creative wedding photographers in the French Caribbean, captured every emotion — from sunlit ceremony to late-night laughter. This Guadeloupe wedding was not just a destination celebration, but a living memory of love, culture, and pure island joy.
