Located in the picturesque village of Fontarèches near Nîmes, and Avignon, Domaine d'Uzès is a 12th-century estate built on the site of an ancient Roman villa. Once part of the Duchy of Uzès, the château embodies centuries of Provençal history. Surrounded by four hectares of gardens, lavender fields, citrus trees, and ancient boxwoods, the venue offers full exclusivity for wedding celebrations.

With a capacity for up to 120 guests, couples can host every element of their wedding onsite—from rehearsal dinners and ceremonies to late-night dancing. Ceremonies can take place in the original chapel or outdoors in the boxwood alley or rose gardens. Reception spaces include a vaulted dining hall, the historic Guards’ Room, a romantic terrace, and an ivy-draped courtyard. With both heritage and tranquillity, Domaine d'Uzès offers a luxurious and immersive experience for those seeking a wedding destination in authentic Provence.

Accommodation:

Domaine d'Uzès offers 21 elegantly appointed rooms and two additional houses that can accommodate up to 45 adult guests on-site. Each room is thoughtfully designed with original architectural elements and refined décor. The Gabriel Suite occupies the third floor and offers elevated views of the estate, while several suites open directly onto the courtyard for easy access.

The château also includes charming rooms such as the Portrait Room and Library on the upper floors. For guests requiring  accessibility, select rooms are adapted for reduced mobility. Every room has been curated to reflect the château's heritage, offering both comfort and a sense of timelessness.

Amenities:

The estate includes a range of leisure amenities that enhance any stay. The emerald-tiled, heated pool is complemented by a fully equipped pool house featuring a bar, lounge, kitchen, and a large screen for outdoor screenings or sporting events. Guests can enjoy a shaded tennis court, a traditional pétanque court, and guided yoga sessions near the pool.

Electric bikes are available to explore the surrounding countryside, including the nearby towns of Uzès and Nîmes. Domaine d'Uzès also offers gourmet picnics on the Gardon River, concierge support, and optional full-board catering from private chefs specialising in Provençal cuisine.

Getting there

From Paris: From Paris, couples and guests can reach Domaine d'Uzès by car via the A9 motorway, exiting at Remoulins before continuing toward Uzès. Alternatively, high-speed TGV trains run from Paris to Nîmes in approximately three hours, followed by a 40-minute drive to the château.

From London: Travelers from London can take the Eurostar to Avignon TGV, followed by a one-hour drive to the château. Alternatively, flights from London to Marseille Provence Airport take under two hours, with onward transfers of around 1 hour and 45 minutes to Fontarèches.
