Welcome to wedding in Provence week on the blog, where I am delighted to we have 3 weddings from Provence to share with you, starting off with this beautiful winter wedding in Provence designed and planned by the team at Lavender & Rose and captured by Alban Pichon.

Provence and its surrounding areas are often a region that gets forgotten about as a destination for winter weddings, but as today’s wedding of Marie-Christine and Dan shows you, the winter sun combined with the crisp weather can provide a beautiful setting for your winter wedding.

Jennifer and the team at Lavender & Rose take us through Marie-Christine and Dan’s love story and wedding: “Much to our delight a few days after Christmas, Marie-Christine and Dan contacted Lavender & Rose seeking assistance to pull together their winter wedding due to take place in under two months.

Marie-Christine and Dan had decided despite the short lead time, to fly over their close family and friends from New York to Provence for their nuptials in order to be close to Marie-Christine’s grandmother living in the South of France.

The 21 February Lavender & Rose  left Cannes for Goult, a stunning village in the Luberon valley, for their first winter wedding. The winter sun allowed the ceremony to be held outdoors and was followed by tea and hot chocolate to warm up the guests served with scrummy sweet treats such as ginger bread, cookies and madeleines.

The bride and groom then took a stroll around the village of Goult lanterns in hand for photos. Upon return to the chateau, around an open fire and flickering candles, a delicious four course dinner was served on two long wooden tables dressed with timelessly chic white winter flowers. The cosy, intimate atmosphere and elegant décor made for a beautiful winter wedding in Provence.”
