We are continuing our quest today to go behind the doors of some of the most beautiful wedding venues in France and today our travels take us to a wedding venue near Bordeaux to Chateau Sentout. The Chateau is a charming 17th century castle with it’s differing architectural styles, mark the passing of the years, enhancing its elegance and unique charm.
The Chateau is one of the best hidden secrets of Bordeaux, offering a romantic place for intimate weddings. Château Sentout itself keeps the charm of an authentic historical house whose character has been carefully preserved, and with the added bonus of a well-restored chapel. The 17thC Chateau is filled with history and architectural features in their original state, treasured over the last 400 hundred years and not spoiled by modern additional buildings or suburbia.
The Chateau’s charm stems from the original architecture: With three round turrets, three square towers, 10 stone arches, 4 high stone columns, and a Virgin statue on rocks in the arbour, all in a peaceful setting.
The Chateau is owned and operated by Gérard and Mary, who are able to offer Chateau Sentout as a beautiful family property offering accommodation for up to 44 people in 7 separate villas and apartments. Situated around a central courtyard and pretty gardens, all have en-suite bedrooms, heating, air-conditioning and free WiFi.
With 20 hectares of meadows and woodland surrounding the chateau, calm and tranquility are guaranteed and the formal and natural gardens give each villa a space of its own, allowing guests their privacy whilst being a part of Chateau Sentout as a whole. The perfect setting for you and your wedding guests.
Each of the guest houses are fully equipped with kitchen, lounge, TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and heating, garden and brick barbecue.
For your wedding reception there are multiple locations that you can choose from. One beautiful space is the large reception room of the “Coach house” with adjoining kitchen used by caterers or by guests themselves. Another available space is in the garden under the arches or give your guests a dramatic setting under the stone columns, which can be illuminated at night.
The Chateau encourages you to create the day of your dreams, so whilst tables and chairs, crockery, cutlery, table clothes, candlesticks as well as a media projection screen and an amplifier with CD player can also be provided, you are welcomed to work with outside vendors such as florists and photographers of your choosing.
Another available option for catering is a a “méchoui” BBQ (roasted lamb on a spit with semolina and vegetables), which the Chateau can provide upon request This is always highly appreciated by guests and is available at a much lower cost than a catered meal.
