Happy Friday folks, we hope you’ve had a great week! Kicking off the weekend we have for you a wanderlust inspired Chateau de Challain wedding.
FWS vendor Chateau de Challain, situated in Challain la Potherie, a village in the commune of Cande in the Maine et Loire department in western France is where we’ll be heading today.
This stunning chateau is the perfect addition to any fairy tale wedding and Taylor and Jasmine’s day was just that. This gorgeous pair and their family and friends traveled from afar to celebrate with them for an unforgettable moment.
Our beautiful bride wore a strapless Amsale gown with a pair of Stuart Weitzman heels while her groom wore a customized tux by Beckenstein. I’ll now pass you over to Jasmine who will be walking us through her travel inspired wedding day…
“We met on the first day of collage, during the Carnegie Mellon University international students orientation. He later told me that it was love at first sight when he saw me. We had a pleasant chat under one of the sun umbrellas at the University Center.”
“Our first ‘date’ was in freshman year. He came over to my dorm’s gym and ran on the treadmill with me. He knew we both love sports, so it would be a good chance to get to know me better. Everything was good at the beginning – we chatted a bit and started running. I was running 5.5 mph and planned to run half an hour as I usually do. He, however, accelerated to 8 mph full sprint. After about 20 min, he started to collapse, but didn’t want to slow down before I did. He stuck to the speed until the end. After we stopped, he couldn’t catch his breath and briefly said goodbye and took off, leaving me wondering whether he was awkward or too shy or not interested in me lol…”
“Of course this was just a very humorous incident. We later became best friends and opened our hearts to each other. After graduating from CMU, Taylor dropped off from his Master program and moved to New York with me. We love traveling, and have been each other’s best company to explore the best restaurants, scenery, and culture events around the world. In 2015, he popped the question to me during our trip to Bora Bora. Beneath the moon and the stars, he is hers and she is his, from this day until the end of days.”
What would you say where the benefits to a destination wedding?
“Getting married at the Chateau of our dreams. We were able to travel around before and after the wedding. Each guest had an unforgettable experience and did their own traveling too.It saved us having to have multiple weddings (in our case it would be one in NY and one in China). One good one is all we needed.”
What would you say were the challenges to having a destination wedding?
“We didn’t have chance to visit the Chateau beforehand and that felt a little risky. Making a schedule that worked for everyone needed a lot of thought and planning. We also had the challanges of travel: visa application, accommodation other than the wedding destination, language barrier, etc.”
Congratulations Taylor and Jasmine from everyone here at French Wedding Style!
