The Wedding Planner’s Wedding in Chamonix

Most brides feel pressure, but when you are a wedding planner getting married, the expectations are grand.  Jody owner of Mont Blanc Weddings, and Anthony planned their wedding in Chamonix for the start of September using the mountains as the backdrop for a relaxed day.

Jody’s wore a stunning Jenny Packham wedding dress that showed of her growing bump for their chapel wedding in Les Praz followed by a reception at La Cabane all captured by Helen Cawte Photography. Who better to describe the day than the wedding planner herself, Jody :”The Wedding Planners Wedding’ – no pressure there then!

Jody: “For us, a simple alpine themed wedding was perfect. Anthony and I love all things Chamonix and so we let the mountains do the talking. Like many brides I speak to, we also wanted quite a relaxed day that people just really enjoyed and would remember.

The arrival to the church in the horse and carriage made me definitely feel like I was a bride on the way to the chapel. With my father and sister as my side it was perfect. The church was perfectly dressed with simple colourful flowers and lots of candles on the altar that represented people close to us. As I walked up the isle to ‘Here comes the sun’ I thought my eyes would be streaming but in fact I was beaming and smiled all the way to my groom! For us, the live acoustic music made the ceremony very emotional and many guests complimented the romance it helped to create in our little mountain chapel.

I shed another tear as the sun finally came out as we existed the church (you hear this happening at other peoples wedding but you don’t think it will happen to you).

A relaxed and fun reception at La Cabane was to follow, we knew music has to play a big part of the day so a jazz band and then later a 3-piece band then DJ meant the night was never without our favourite tunes. We also indulged in our first dance being outside on the terrace ‘among the stars’. Needless to say, like most good weddings the party carried on into the early morning – where a midnight buffet of my own handmade wedding cake and some traditional Pork pies went down a treat!

To think that our little boy (just a bump at the time) was also there to share it with us makes it all even more special for us. I can’t wait to show him the pictures when he’s older as proof he was enjoying it all with us all along!

The backdrop for the wedding is just beautiful and La Cabane and the setting is the element dream weddings are made of.  Wonderful photographer by Helen Cawte and Charlie Davies, I especially love the cheeky image of Jody and Anthony with their heads together that really captures the couples love and intimacy.
