Stylish African Chic Wedding Decor

For the wedding of Sophie & Edouard, Marie-Laure from Giacomelli Weddings and Vanessa from D’amour et de Deco joined forces to create an African chic wedding atmosphere that was like no other. We are feeling so inspired by this wedding concept! We can’t wait to hear what you think! Let’s get started.. This bride to be wanted an original theme that would recall the safari honeymoon she was looking forward to after the wedding. Warm colours like ochre, beige, brown, khaki, golden brown, highlighted by touches of white and materials like wood and leather were used for this theme.

To begin Marie-Laure, the wedding planner and Sophie, the bride, created different mood boards for every aspect of the wedding and even one dedicated to guests so we could be sure they would respect the African chic dress code. Marie-Laure sourced the accessories such as the Panama hats, fans, carpets, and African decoration items for the big day. A photo booth with a vintage style camera theme gave a great twist to this sophisticated decor.

Then she entrusted Vanessa to handle all of the decoration, from flowers to the seating chart. Her ideas and expertise as a wedding designer allowed them to turn the venue into a sublime safari setting with delicate touches of pampas flower and proteas. Dried flowers were used to remind us of the rustic savanna and every detail was accounted for, even the ceremony petals were dried and set in tree bark cones! This embellishment was successful because it did not deny the natural Provencal spirit of the venue, instead it complemented it.

Even family members played a part in keeping this beautiful theme alive. The groom’s brother was also the celebrant of the ceremony. He brought an African doll of fertility that was used to carry the wedding rings, a great thoughtful touch.
