Happy Halloween Folks!! It’s less than spooky around here today because we have a sweet rustic countryside Charente real wedding to share with you…
We are heading to the picturesque Charente department today in southwestern France, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region for the real wedding of Cathy and Matt.
We love their outdoor ceremony set at the base of the beautiful French steps of the stunning French manor house they chose as their wedding venue. There to capture all the emotion of the day was FWS vendor and talented videographer Matthias Guerin. Matthias who is based in France travels all over the country and the rest of Europe to capture his clients unique weddings. “I only accept a limited number of weddings each year in order to provide the best service, and to create a film that reflects you, and your unique wedding day.”
We are starting off today’s feature with Matthias Guerin’s beautiful wedding film:
“Cathy and Matt were married last June at the Manoir Angle, situated in the heart of the Charente countryside. It was a small intimate wedding with the ceremony and reception held in the grounds of the Manoir. The historic property made a beautiful understated back-drop for this laid-back countryside wedding. As Cathy and Matt’s videographer I was lucky to enjoy their wedding day, and also work with some wonderful suppliers.”
“The couple were married legally at the local Mairie early on a warm June morning. When I arrived at the Manoir, I saw them heading back in an iconic Deux Cheveux car, I quickly grabbed my camera as I knew that this would make a great shot to use at the beginning of their wedding film.”
“I worked with Samantha from The Best Events Co. on this wedding. Samantha was present from the morning right through to the evening. After meeting the couple in person, Samantha showed me around the Manoir, and where the ceremony and reception will be held.”
“Once I have gathered some establishing shots, I start to film Cathy and Matt getting ready for their day ahead. This has been well organised by Samantha so that David (the photographer) and I can film and photograph both the Bride and Groom getting ready. Matt is getting ready in a near by gîte and is giving personalised gifts to his best men, so this is an important moment for us to capture.”
“The ceremony will be taking place in front of the steps at the back of the Manoir, and extra flowers had already been added onto the steps and balcony before I started to film. The result is lovely and highlights the charm of the Manoir without taking away from the building itself.”
“With everyone dressed and ready, it is time for the ceremony. Samantha conducts the ceremony in front of the Manoir with the guests seated behind the Bride and Groom. The ceremony is then followed by a cocktail and dinner in the Manoir’s grounds.”
“The tables have been decorated with a selection of purple and violette flowers in glass vases placed on slices of tree trunk. This really adds to the wedding and really seems to bring the Manoir’s gardens onto the dinner table. After speeches from the Father of the Bride, Matt and his best man, dinner is served. The guests enjoy a relaxed dinner in French sunshine on a beautiful June afternoon.”
“Once the light is a bit lower, David and myself sneak out of dinner for a few moments to capture some beautiful couple shots. The light is beautiful as it pierces through the trees in the gardens of the Manoir. As dusk moves in, Matt lights candles around the Manoir’s steps and guests dance the night away in front of the Manoir.”
Congratulations Cathy & Matt from everyone here at French Wedding Style!
