Hello FWS readers, and how are we all doing today? Today marks the end of February, which means that tomorrow we’re officially in to Spring! What better way to round off the month, than with the utterly romantic wedding in Languedoc-Rousillion of Jen & Sam.
Grant Morgan Weddings.
The day was captured by Kerry Morgan Photography and planned by her husband Grant, of Grant Morgan Weddings. So let’s pass you on to the capable hands of Kerry, who is going to walk us through the day…
Domaine Saint Germain
Domaine Saint Germain is one of the most beautiful places in the Languedoc-Rousillion area in the south of France. Completely exclusive and secluded, it’s the perfect place to hold a wedding. It has views to Pic Saint Loup, it’s surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The stunning infinity pool definitely gives it a wow factor.
Sam and Jen chose to tie the knot in front of all their friends and family in this most romantic of settings. I started with the couple getting ready. Where Jen was had great light, so important for making sure your make-up is just right.
The ceremony was conducted outside by celebrant Ray Thatcher from wedding words and wishes. He always makes the ceremony so personal for the couple and the couple wrote their own vows too. The couple’s friends played during the signing of their certificate.
After the ceremony and being covered in confetti by their jubilant guests, the couple hosted a champagne reception with the most delicious canapes. Guest chatted in the sunshine and enjoyed the beautiful views from the domaine.
My style of shooting is to mix very natural documentary photography with beautifully arranged groups and portraits. Today was no exception. I chose the wonderful infinity pool, with its fantastic views over to Pic Saint Loup for the group pictures.
The couple’s pictures were shot amongst the pretty olive groves. I like to make sure I use gentle direction when shooting the couple’s portraits, this make the images look very natural and fits with the relaxed style of the rest of the coverage.
Danced the night away
The day continued with a three-course meal and then it was onto the speeches. The couple and their friends and family danced the night away to the fantastic band Rip it Encore and more food was served in the form of a buffet.
It was a stunning day and will live long in the memory!
Congratulations to Jen & Sam from the FWS team xx
