Happy hump-day lovelies! On the blog today, we have this truly romantic international wedding at Château de Méridon. If love at first sight is true, then get set for a touch of “venue love at first site”!
This grand castle has served as a filming location for several films and television. But for Nadia and Kevin, tying the knot at this fabulous venue allows them to create their own fairytale story…
With wedding photographer Clémence Dubois Photographie, and friends and family flying from different parts of the world, this as certainly an international wedding already script-worthy.
Here’s their love story….
Nadia and Kevin met through a mutual friend, at Disneyland Paris. The day was not met for them to begin a love story, but it did eventually a few weeks later.
Kevin proposed to Nadia on her 29th birthday, while on vacation to Montreal. They both used to live in Montreal when they were younger and it was the first time they were going there together, 2.5 years after they began dating.
The couple wanted a location close to Paris, as many family members and friends were traveling from the US, Canada, Colombia, Cambodia, Singapore and even Australia! They also wanted a romantic place, prestigious yet warm and welcoming.
It was love at first sight with the Château de Méridon: a big outdoor area to plan the ceremony, a bright room for the dinner, and a great ballroom with high ceilings to dance the rest of the night away. The castle is ideally located in a forest, meaning there are no close neighbors. It also has over 15 rooms, perfect for some guests to stay the night.
Some hotels and beds and breakfasts are also located nearby.
The couple wanted a romantic and poetic wedding with pastel colors and an attention to details. Inspirations came from Instagram, Pinterest, The Wedding Magazine and some websites (Zank you / la mariee en colere/ marriage.net).
Château de Méridon works with a few caterers and DJ, meaning the couple had to choose from them, which is easier. They also hired a wedding designer (decoration, flowers, ceremony setting) and Clémence Dubois Photographie. It was really important for the couple to get along with them, share the same ideas or point of view and for them to be very professional.
The bride wore a custom-made wedding dress by Elsa Gary. Her shoes were from Jimmy Choo and jewels by Cartier. The groom wore a custom-made Samson suit and Saint Laurent shoes. His accessories were from Alain Figaret and Cartier.
Beautiful outdoor ceremony – the bride’s bouquet had 30 flowers as the couple married on Nadia’s 30th birthday.
The birthday surprised, planned by the groom and the wedding designer was a total surprise ! (birthday cake + countless candles sparkling).
The couple would highly suggest hiring a wedding planner or wedding designer. It is really a peace of mind and the result if breathtaking! Plus, the wedding designer/planner usually thinks about a lot of details and points that the couple might miss.
Honeymoon yet to come : Australia, Fiji islands, Cook islands and New Zealand for 5 weeks!
Congratulations to Nadia & Kevin!
