Relaxed wedding in Languedoc-Roussillon France

Happy Boxing Day, did you all have wonderful Christmas Day’s?  And did anyone get engaged over Christmas?  As we have a large family, it is our Christmas Day take 2 today, with my side of the family and I can’t wait.  More laughter, Santa’s little helper delivery the presents, good wine and lots of festive laughter.

But I know that the newly engaged with be keen to start their wedding planning, so I have a wonderful relaxed wedding in Languedoc-Roussillon captured by Susie Lawrence Photography, to share with you today.

Bride Claire takes us through their love story: “I always wanted to get married abroad and we had looked at other venues but they were either booked up or too expensive.

A friend of ours then suggested Chateau de Campuget as he had been there through work to visit the vineyard. Tom and some of our friends work in the catering and wine industry so that’s where the link came from.

We visited Nimes the previous August and fell in love with it! Although it wasn’t much of a holiday as we basically had a week to decide on the wedding location, the caterers and check out accommodation for guests.

We even found the band on the Friday night as they were playing a gig at a local bar! In terms of the planning, everything was quite straightforward. I used to be an Events Manager for a large restaurant in Yorkshire so I had done it lots before. We came up with a plan of how we wanted the day to run and the people who own the vineyard delivered.

Although the vineyard don’t do that many weddings a year, they made it run so easily and we didn’t need to ask for anything over the course of the weekend.

Susie the photographer was amazing. Strange as it sounds the best bit was I forgot she was there at one point! We got loads of amazing photos of the ceremony and meal but done in a way that wasn’t one bit intrusive. Also, Susie’s ideas for taking the photos meant we didn’t have to suggest anything and she made us feel really at ease throughout.pouring champagne
