There is nothing like celebrating your engagement or love in a romantic city like Paris and I have featured many on the blog before. So when I receive a love photoshoot in Paris that has me seeing Paris with a fresh set of eyes, I know that the special occasion has been captured by a talented photographer and I have to share it.
Their story of love is straight from a movie and they decided to celebrate their happy ending with a photoshoot in Paris with Olivier from Wedding Light.
Kimberly narrates us through their story: “Monte and I met in April of 2010 while we were both working for the Army. My office was moving into a new section of the building an his unit ending up moving into my old office. We, along with other co-workers, all went out on St. Patricks Day and we ending up hanging out a lot after that evening. Now, all of the guys in his office, and mine as well, are all like family.
Unfortunately, not too long after we began dating, I found out that I was going to be leaving for Africa for a year. But we decided to stay together and he popped the question of marriage right after Christmas. I left shortly thereafter, but he came to visit me in Djibouti, Africa — only to see me for four days….When it was time to leave Africa in early 2012, we were so excited! Now we are lucky, Monte has only had to go on short month-long trips since we have been together.”
Why they choose Paris…. “Monte and I both love France and this was our second trip there together. We wanted a romantic place to take our engagement photos — somewhere that would provide a backdrop that would be recognized by our children and their children someday. We could not have picked a better photographer to help us achieve that! Olivier’s photos were so classy, romantic, and scenic. So after a trip that took us from southern Spain to Portugal and up the west coast of France, we finally made it to Paris (and ended up putting over 3,500 km on our rental car in 7 days!!). But, it was worth it. We cannot wait to visit again and try to relocate our lock (on the Lovers Bridge).”
I love Kimberly’s red, white and blue dresses and the old romantic in me loves a happy ending.
Monique xx
