Loire Valley Chateau de la Ruche Wedding

Just the two of you, running away

There is something old-world-romantic about elopements especially at a venue like Chateau de la Ruche. Just the two of you, running away to get married, making your wedding about your love for each other and nothing else.

Without the stress of guests lists, the expense of a big party and the wants and wishes of everyone else. An elopement can be a much more relaxed way to get married. Let’s hear more from this venue. Château de la Ruche is a beautiful setting for our laid back French country elopement.

Here intimate weddings and elopements are a château specialty

The castle is located in the peaceful countryside of the Pays de la Loire in France. Where intimate weddings and elopements are a château specialty.

The start of the journey to this castle will bring you down a beautiful country lane drive and into your very own piece of France. For a day or two, the magic of this secret French country estate will be yours.

Think long laid back lunches and picnics in the sunshine.

Here the guests feel stylishly spoiled but there’s no sign of stuffy formality. So expect luxurious with a down-to-earth edge. Think long laid back lunches and picnics in the sunshine. Think local home-grown produce, beautiful Loire Valley wines, plenty of cheese, seasonal flowers, and the gentle flicker of candles everywhere inside. It is a fairytale.

Using seasonal flowers and greenery foraged from the Château grounds

We wanted to capture all of the magic in our elopement shoot. Making the most of the natural setting of the château in the wilderness with the beautiful light that surrounds it. Using seasonal flowers and greenery foraged from the Château grounds. We created a series of lush, botanical backdrops for our young couple.
A pair of beautiful old wrought iron gates were resurrected from the woods and twined with foraged greens, vines and flowers for the ceremony to be held in the shade of the lime tree avenues.

Perfect for a relaxed French elopement

Rather than a traditional bridal gown, we chose a hand-frayed, silk and cotton voile dress from Luxe Provence, made ethically in France. The beautiful light fabric and simple style is perfect for a relaxed French elopement and looks at home in the wildflower meadows.

Vintage plates, cutlery and glassware from Château’s personal collections were used to style the secluded, candlelit table for two. Tucked away in the Château gardens, while hand-dyed silk ribbons and table runners continued our botanical theme throughout.

All washed down with beautiful Loire Valley wines

Our elopement couple enjoyed a quaint French picnic under the ancient apple trees. Laid with a feast of local cheeses, bread, charcuterie, and fresh produce. Then, of course, all washed down with beautiful Loire Valley wines from the vineyards just an hour away.

This wedding really brought us back in time and reminded us what is important in an elopement, style that is tailor-made for the couple. Congrats you two!
