Intimate Weddings & Elopement Photographer: Giane Lima

I am shining a light today on the fabulous Giane Lima,  who is an intimate weddings & elopement photographer throughout Europe and beyond.   You will recognise Giane as being an active FWS Vendor who always sets my heart a fluttering with her fine art  images.

Originally from Brazil and now living in Belgium, come and meet Giane:

How did you become involved in photography ?

My father gave me my first camera when I was 12 and I carried it everywhere I went. In 2005 I moved from Brazil to Ireland and there I bought my first digital camera and decided to learn photography for real to document all the new things I was experiencing in that new phase of my life. Since then being a photographer became a lifestyle and nothing more natural than making it my full time profession too.

What skills do you think that it takes to be a fabulous photographer?

I believe photography is something very personal. To me, a fabulous photographer is the one who is able to show who they really are and how they see, with an unique vision, the moments unfolding in front of them.

What type and style do your brides often have?

My brides are cosmopolitan women getting married mostly abroad with small weddings or elopements. Like me, they believe that less is more and the moments spent with those they love are more important than anything else. They are always beyond happy for marrying the guy of their dreams and their wedding day is more about who they are together than any other conventions and traditions.

How does working with a destination couple differ from a domestic couple planning a wedding in France?

Destination couples are very spontaneous and don’t need a lot of time planning. It’s a nice surprise to have a couple getting in contact only a few weeks before their wedding. They are mostly having small weddings or elopements while domestic couples might involve a lot more of planning in advance and bigger weddings. Working with destination couple suits me better since I’m specialized in intimate weddings & elopements.

What is your favourite part of the photography process for a couple getting married in France?

I’m sure it is the same reason a couple chooses to get married in France. The pretty locations everywhere, great food and all the romantic atmosphere make the whole day extra special.

What is the best thing about being a photographer?

Being able to meet amazing people from all over the world while documenting valuable moments of their lives. Being part of those moment and making them even happier with the images I create. Nothing beats that!!!
