I can’t believe that this is the first beach side Chateau that has featured on the blog and whilst the wedding is more of a garden wedding, be sure to click on down to view the couple shots on the beach, pure romance!
Aurélie & Marc’s French/ Spanish wedding was an international gathering, just outside La Baule in western France at Chateau Saint Marc. During the start of the planning, the couple decided that they wanted to create a wedding that was focussed on family, classy but easy going and was ideally in France and near the Atlantic Ocean.
Bride Aurélie: “We choose the location because we were looking for a family place, something reminiscent of a lived in family house that was hosting a family celebration in the garden. We wanted everybody to feel comfortable.
In addition we wanted it to be nearby the sea as it is something important for me, since I am a big kid and love the Ocean. Basically we wanted a family wedding. In a nod to the history of the Chateau and the decadence of the early 20s period of the castle, the jazz band created trumpeted out the soundtrack to the day.
Following the day of the wedding we continued the family feel and organised a big picnic in the garden complete with badminton.”
As regards the clothes, the same details were respected to include the period features: the suspenders for Marc and for me the vintage hair styling, as well as vintage style earings.
Same for the invitation (old ad for La Baule based, dated beginning of the past century), and for the presents to the family and friends (men: metal box with an advertisings of the region dated beginning of the last century, Woman: cotton bag for eco shopping with a view of La Baule bay in the 20´s).
How romantic are those beach shots?!
