Good Morning, we hope you enjoyed a lovely weekend. Kicking this brand new week off we have for you a French countryside weekend wedding.
Are you planning a weekend wedding at a French chateau? If so then this beautiful wedding held at Saint Victor La Grand’ Maison will help you with your planning. From sweet welcome gift ideas for your guests to an intimate wedding breakfast this countryside weekend wedding will be just the inspiration you need.
“The weekend itself was magical, we spent the mornings relaxing and walking into town, the evenings were spent eating fresh baked bread, soft French cheeses, and sparkling wine in the evenings by the pool, and our wedding day was absolutely perfect.”
You’ll find this historic hilltop wedding venue in the region of Poitou-Charentes, now part of Nouvelle Aquitaine, its a former region on the French Atlantic coast with Roman, Renaissance and medieval history. It’s the perfect countryside escape.
Our beautiful bride who chose a nude Tadashi Shojji gown to say I do will be walking us through her dream day…
“As soon as we got engaged, we knew that we wanted to have a destination wedding and immediately fell in love with the idea of the French countryside. We love to travel, and France has always been one of our favorite places to visit due to the culture, the food, and of course, the wine. We wanted to have an intimate wedding, being able to relax and celebrate with friends and family and couldn’t think of a better place to do so than in France.”
“We created welcome boxes to greet the guests which were filled with French snacks and wines, a personal note to each of them, and a few other items for the weekend including a copy of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s “The Little Prince”.”
“While planning we did some online searches and Saint Victor was our first choice. We immediately contacted the owner, who was incredibly sweet and worked with us over Skype to plan our dream wedding weekend. It was important to us to include our personal styles in our wedding, so we planned the styling and designed the invitations, welcome boxes, and paper goods for the weekend and this led us to later create our own wedding styling and design business. However, the owner connected us to vendors and help plan the logistics, which helped our style come to fruition.”
“As we got closer to the wedding, we started to get a little nervous because, although we had great conversations with the owner, we never visited the venue ahead of time and had only seen photographs. As soon as we arrived, we knew we had made the right decision. It was the most beautiful place I have ever stayed, with the most gracious staff. We felt like we were visiting dear friends that just happened to live in a beautiful vintage, French chateau.”
“We had a string quartet play some of our favorite songs at our ceremony including “In My Life” by the Beatles and “Shelter from the Storm” by Bob Dylan. Megan walked down the aisle to “Little Trip to Heaven” by Tom Waits, our favorite love song.”
“Following the ceremony, we immediately celebrated with our friends and family with sparkling rose and hor d’oeuvres, while Jazzlive trio played some of our favorite French songs.”
“Dinner was served on one long table and we had created place cards using brass toy airplanes and menus out of French postcards. We placed shawls on the backs of the womens’ chairs, which they put on once the sun went down.”
“Everything from the dinner to the music to the gorgeous room filled with flowers and candles were perfect. We left for a few minutes to take some photos at sunset, and returned for a croquembouche an dancing. When the sun went down, we walked outside to see the stars and everything felt absolutely perfect. We could not have imagined a more perfect way to start our marriage together, and our family and friends have vowed to return to Saint Victor together in a few years.”
