Christmas maybe over for another year and we are racing into 2013, but if the festive wonderland left an impression and you are dreaming of a white winter wedding ideas, winter weddings in France can be just magical.
The winter wedding style allows the combining of intricate lace with vintage gems, fur boleros and I find the winter season, with a cozy wedding reception feel to be so romantic. If you are planning a winter wedding, but want to inject a little colour, the splash of red against crisp white wedding ideas below mixes two of my favourite colours and styles.
Fabienne Slater from Elian Concept Weddings and Events has some winter wedding ideas to help you achieve your winter wonderland dreams. Elian Concept Weddings and Events can help you plan the winter wedding of your dreams in the UK or a white wedding over in France.
Fabienne: “As more couples are getting married in the winter months it is worth looking at the options France can offer. Of course one can take advantage of the South’s milder climate and the more attractive prices in winter, however planning a wedding in this season is not always about getting better deals. It could simply be about your vision of a white wedding in its purest meaning. The Alps provide the ultimate background to achieve this dream.
The snow is guaranteed in all its glory until Spring. Nasty surprises usually associated with wintery weather are rare as the region is well equipped and prepared.
It may be very cold outside, but on a sunny day the light is magic and you would not find a cosier atmosphere inside: the warmth of a wooden chalet, the romantic feeling of a log burning fire and candle lights, the comfort of hot chocolate or mulled wine drinks.
You could not find a better place than a ski resort to combine gourmet French cuisine for your reception with fantastic outdoor activities for your guests. Some locations are hiding mountain palaces and exquisite chalet hotels, which mix rustic charm with timeless elegance, tradition with design. A truly luxury experience.
Here are a few selections.

For winter wedding accessories and table settings, I personally like the use of light grey or neutral shade to gently break from the total white look. Adding a few touches here and there is a refined way to soften the brightness of white and sparkles.
Alternatively, a splash of bright colour works wonders to add character to a white winter scene.
It is said that in the excitement of the day, brides don’t feel the cold though it will be better not put this tale to the test, so remember to keep warm outdoors with faux fur or feather wraps, angora cashmere boleros or accessories.
Wishing you all a “Bonne Année 2013”.
