Domaine de Grolhier - Dordogne Wedding Venue

Today on the blog, we’re throwing open the doors to a wonderfully quaint Dordorgne Wedding Venue in South West France, as we allow you to peak inside Domaine de Grolhier.

Located in the stunning Dordogne countryside, Domaine de Grolhier was originally a watermill for the local area. And with the pond only a stones through away, it provides ample opportunities for some very romantic images!

The Domaine de Grolhier estate comprises of 4 separate properties gathered around a central courtyard and 4 hectares of parkland.

All four charming properties have been sympathetically converted from the original barns surrounding the mill. Retaining their original oak beams, fireplaces and stone features they offer you a taste of traditional French living whilst being of the highest specification.

Le Moulin houses the latest addition, a luxury bridal suite with a four poster bed and huge windows to take in the surrounding countryside and lake Grolhier.

Domaine de Grolhier offers all-inclusive wedding packages for up to 50 guests and has great facilities to entertain a group of party goers over a weekend. There is a large heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, games room, on site bike hire and even fishing.

For wedding ceremonies there is an intimate ceremony area, accessed by a wooden bridge over a stream, or ceremonies can be held in one of the gardens under the shade of lush trees. The courtyard makes for a delightful cocktail area to enjoy Champagne and canapes after the ceremony listening to relaxing music in the sun.

Photo opportunities are endless, in the wild flower meadow, by the meandering stream, in the vines…

To end the night in style, there is a purpose built night club in the old mill! With real disco lights and sound systems, it is your private club to dance the night away.

The wedding food is provided by a local French chef, who proudly showcases all the wonderful fresh local ingredients in his food and the wedding cakes are made by a local baker as well.
