We are all about chic style today with Marlene and Gary’s Coco Chanel inspired engagement shoot around the streets of Paris by Ladies & Lord. Whilst today’s feature is an engagement shoot it could equally double up an alternative wedding dress inspiration shoot featuring the beautiful Eva Poleschinski black dress.
Claudia from Ladies & Lord talks us through Marlene & Gary’s love story: “A love story between a German girl and an English boy who met in Paris. They met in classic Hollywood fashion – by coincidence – walking the pretty streets of the most glamorous city on earth. Does it get any cheesier than this you might ask and yes it does. I asked the future bride to tell me the whole story:
Marlene came to Paris for some inspiration. She had just launched her very first jewellery collection in Vienna and was hungry for more inspiration from the art and fashion world. And where better to go for that than Paris? On her way to 31 Rue Cambon – Marlene adores Chanel – she stumbled into the arms of handsome Gary who was visiting his family. He was wearing a hat, Marlene remembers and laughs while telling the story: “who in this day and age still wears a hat?”
They hit it off spent the remaining days together. Gary showed her the city. They were drinking coffee and eating croissants. Little did they know that one major thing connected them. They both lived in Vienna!!! Cupid knew what he was doing there 😉 Gary is a pro football player and had recently transferred to play for Vienna. So knowing that there will be another day they said goodbye in Paris and met again in Vienna.
I met the couple last year at a wedding fair and we hit it right off. They were telling me of their plans for their big wedding on the Seychelles where Gary’s family is originally from. But first they said: we must go back to Paris where it all began and so we did! Our bags were filled with gorgeous couture by Austrian Designer Eva Poleschinski. International Makeup Artist Sandra Pranjic from Sfumato Makeup flew in from Slovenia. Cake designer Bettina Valentek created a stunning Chanel inspired engagement cake for two. The paper goods are handmade by Goldmarie a talented graphic designer based in Austria.
The engagement shoot was inspired by the timeless elegance of Coco Chanel. Fashion is a big part in all our lives so we focused on that. To bring back a bit of that gone by Hollywood era I decided to keep many of the imagery in black and white.”
