Enchanting destination wedding at Chateau de Pommard, France

enchanting wedding

Happy Monday trulovers and I have a enchanting destination wedding at Chateau de Pommard surrounded by vineyards in Burgundy, France. Today’s couple Lisa and Peter are both wine lovers and visited Burgundy to discover the great vineyards and wines. They visited Chateau de Pommard and fell in love with this place as their wedding venue.

Meeting at their work for the same company in New York city, the couple engaged the services of Bulles & Compagnie wedding planners to co-ordinate their destination wedding and photographer David Brent to capture the big day.

Elodie from Bulles et Compagnie takes us through the big day:  “The day started with a relaxed atmosphere as the bride and groom began their preparations.  The non religious wedding was planned to take place in the French style garden of the Chateau, but the weather on this Saturday of August was unfortunately rainy and cold and put this at risk.

But not to fear as in such a stunning venue, an alternative location could be easily found and so they celebrated in The Ancient Kitchen of Château de Pommard.  The kitchens had the atmosphere of kitchens in the 18th century and we redecorated with an arch of flowers.

The celebration lasted 30minutes; guests were welcome by the harpist and flutist playing live. Then the
officiant celebrated the union. At the end of the celebration, the couple left with David Brenot for their couple portraits and guests could visit the chateau’s cellars and the art gallery which proposed at this time Miro and Keith Haring exhibitions.

The couple then hosted a cocktail reception and Lisa and Peter were accompanied by a 10 horn burgundian team in their traditional suits .

It was a completely surprise for the guests and none of the guests had heard such a fanfare of
music and were all amazed. The team formed a guard of honour when Lisa and Peter entered the Chateau for the cocktail reception.

The wedding dinner started at 7.15 and we poured champagne by jeroboam to welcome the bride and groom. The dinner, prepared by a One star, was at 10.30pm and then guests were invited to move outside for a Thai sky lantern launching.

Later in the evening the caterer served the dessert and wedding cake specially designed for the couple with some LEGO parts.  To round the evening off, guests were invited to share a glass of champagne on the terrace, and suddenly, the fireworks started. A 10 minute display of spectacular colour in front of the chateau and in the sky…. Magic. The wedding celebrations continued on until the early hours with guests leaving at 2am.  A wonderful day of celebration!
