Hello and welcome to fabulous Friday! It is nearly the end of the working week and we are cartwheeling into the weekend atmosphere with a rustic countryside wedding in Burgundy, at Chateau de Mailly planned by Elegance in France.
Today’s couple Claire and José from London, had their hearts set on a French wedding and after looking at several chateaux and wedding venues in the area, fell for the rustic charms of the beautiful Chateau de Mailly. Chateau de Mailly is set high in the Burgundian countryside, amongst prehistoric rock formations, undulating fields with cow dotted pastures and surrounding forests. The accompanying views are one of the many charms that the couple fell for in their fairytale wedding venue.
Claire’s bridal look was in keeping with a demure theme in France, a pretty lace wedding dress of ivory lace teamed with a bouquet or white roses and lavender freesias.
Sandrine from Elegance in France takes us through their day: “Even the beautiful French weather can be a little unpredictable, so instead of the planned outdoor wedding ceremony, the couple took advantage of the charming and rustic ceremony room inside of the chateau.
Claire walked down the aisle with her Father to “le canon de Pachebel” and whilst Christine from Celebrants in France conducted the ceremony, soft harp music was playing adding even more romance to a day filled with love.
Following the ceremony the drinks reception (vin d’honneur) was held outside around the swimming pool of the chateau, where guests could soak up the beautiful Burgundian countryside. The wedding dinner was held in a marquee in the grounds of the Chateau, with simple table decorations of ivory roses, white hydrangeas and purple freesias.
It truly was a day filled with love, laughter, fun & amazing French wine and food!”
