Perfect Pear Dessert Table

dresser wedding dessertsI really appreciate each and every submission that I receive and that you have chosen French Wedding Style as the platform to display your work.  So when this Perfect Pear Dessert Table landed in my inbox, I first had to stop lusting after all of the wonderful creation and knew that I couldn’t wait to feature this.

The creative brain child of the team at Sweet and Lovely Cake Design, this is a beautiful example of how creativity when teamed with styling can create wondrous displays, which were captured by Kristine Marie Photography.

Roxy from Something Sweet & Lovely; Cake Designs, takes us through the shoot: “A few weeks ago, I came across a beautiful photograph where it featured a rich and dark chocolate covered pear. It looked so delicious and the colors captured where so sophisticated and masculine, I couldn’t resist! I fell in love with the photo, and all the beautiful colors: warm yellows, pear greens, dark browns and gray/blue tones…simply gorgeous! I decided then, pears would have to be included. Additionally, the idea of creating a “the perfect pear” dessert table just seemed so “pearfect.”

If you think about it, no pear is perfect–they are lumpy and never quite the same size or shape as the other ones, but when you find the perfect two, you can’t help to think that they do make “The Pear-fect Pear.”I guess that is what marriage is all about, finding your perfect pear. Once I knew the theme of our dessert table was pears, everything else just seemed to come together so naturally.

Choosing the vendors was the easiest! My initial thought was to always capture a masculine feel to represent the groom. I noticed that in most wedding dessert tables, the design is almost always geared towards a more feminine. I wanted to add a twist and also celebrate the groom (why not, he’s in the wedding too!).

I made sure that the femininity and elegance of a bride was presented with flowers that where delicate and soft, yet colorful! I also wanted to make sure both elegance and antiquity were captured and decided to use platters and vintage books to bring it all together! I’m so happy with how it turned out!

Sarah from Truly Fancy describes the flowers:  “For the shoot I used white anemones, yellow billy balls, white peonies, white ranunculus, yellow ranunculus, queen anne’s lace, white garden roses, lisianthus, dusty miller and eucalyptus.”
