Paris at Night Wedding Inspiration

Paris at Night wedding inspiration |

Good Morning all! It may be the 5th of January, but back to work for many and feels almost like the start of the year!  So with that in mind I am beyond thrilled to start with a stunning Paris at Night wedding inspiration shoot, captured by FWS Sponsor Rebecca Douglas Photography.

This shoot holds a special place in my heart,  as I collaborated on the shoot, and was part of the merry band of creatives who headed over to Paris. This shoot like so many started with a ‘what if’ conversation –  lead by Rebecca Douglas, myself and fellow FWS Sponsor Victoria Farr hair and make up.

Whilst ideas where milling around for a winter shoot in Paris, the team grew with the additions of the renowned Rock the Frock Bridal Boutique, super talented dress designer Julie Lou, milliner McFayden Millinery and floral designers Frida & Sophia – with so much talent our dream team was complete!

As a creative you have those moments that make your heart sing with creative clarity – this poem by Jacques Prévert anchored the ethos of our shoot:

Paris At Night
Three matches lit one by one in the night
The first to see your face in its entirety
The second to see your eyes
The last to see your mouth
And the darkness all around to remind me of all of them
As I take you in my arms.

The shoot focused on night time in Paris in a 1940’s-esque style with cinematic and  film noir influences.  Our real couple Kate and Sam explored the city at night, escaping the modern world, for a whirlwind romance around the iconic city.

The super talented Rebecca Douglas Photography cleverly played with light, using low key lighting, dramatic shadows, candles and projectors to create images reminiscent of film noir movie stills.

One of the pleasures in any city or beautiful space, is that it is a canvas for you to work against.  Paris for me is like a women with many layers and moods, from cheeky sun drenched summer days to sultry crisp winter nights.

I am so proud and delighted to be a part of this creative team, as we used Paris as our backdrop for a nostalgic great love story.  So proud in fact that a print from the shoot will soon be displayed on the walls in my office.

So here is the Paris at Night collaboration and don’t forget to check out the list of fabulous suppliers in the credits below.
