Olive Grove Wedding by Feather and Stone

olive grove wedding

Welcome to another fabulous week and we are starting with an epic love story that ends, in an olive grove wedding in Provence captured by Feather and Stone. To summarise Tessa took a life break and hoped on a plane to France, to clear her head and work on farms. At the first farm, Alex was working in the garden and immediately made an impression.  Two weeks turned into ten, Spring into Summer and the rest as they say is history on the road to a truly beautiful wedding!

The wedding was planned by Laura and the  Un Grand Oui team and she takes us through a year since the wedding.  Laura: “Every year, Tessa & Alex’s French side of their family gather in this olive grove to harvest the olives, which Alex’s mother then transforms into many liters of olive oil for the family to use all year round.

As we approach this year’s olive harvest in about one month, and having spent time at this venue last weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to share some of the beautiful photography by Feather & Stone once again.

Particularly since Tessa, Alex and their (now 2 year old) peanut Theo have been living in California ever since the month after their wedding. The passage of the their anniversary date just over a week ago gave their family in France and all of us a little pinch of nostalgia, for the blissful moments of their wedding day in Aix-en-Provence one year ago.

I can think of many highlights from Tessa & Alex’s wedding.

Rehearsing Tessa and her father’s walk down the aisle the day before the wedding, in the “under the oak tree” ceremony setting that Tessa herself had so passionately envisioned months before.

Watching Alex with his mother and his son walk euphorically down the aisle, to the sound of his favorite reggae tune… and the happy energy that made clapping simply irresistible for their guests.

Having fun finding sweet loves quotes in English and French for the ceremony walk, with the help of Tessa & Alex’s cousin Colomba.

Tessa’s heartfelt emotion during the vows which left no eye dry, among guests (and planners!).

As if the trees could speak, I walked through the olive grove last Saturday and remembered that beautiful wedding day as well as Tessa & Alex’s inspiringly sweet “how we met” story shared with us all now a year ago. Here’s to having one of the most inspiring and satisfying jobs I could have imagined doing. ”

That is Alex and I, faces in the sun and hands in the dirt. We fall asleep holding hands and wake up to the sounds of a happy child playing in his bed. I know now that that “crazy” moment of me buying my plane ticket to get away was actually just my heart telling me what I would need to do to find him, and to eventually find my baby son. – See more at: http://www.100layercake.com/blog/2014/03/18/provence-olive-grove-wedding-france/#sthash.kwCc4r5n.dpuf
