Happy New Year lovely French Wedding Style readers! We are heading into 2018 with a visit to the luxury Dordogne wedding venue Chateau la Durantie for today’s real wedding.
We love Château La Durantie here at FWS, it’s always a pleasure to feature weddings held at this prestigious venue especially when they include two of our very own talented FWS vendors!
Choosing wedding vendors for your big day is one of the most important tasks, chosen correctly the vendors will make your day everything you’ve dreamed of and so much more. So it pays to do a little research and of course visit our French wedding directory here.
This glamorous wedding of Guillermina and Ben included stunning florals from one of Durantie’s favourite wedding florists French Flower Style… “Whether you are getting married in a fairytale Chateau or amongst the breathtaking views of one of the many vineyards, choosing French Flower Style to be your wedding florist in France can help make your day even more memorable with bespoke floral designs, created for your special day . With 20 years of Floristry Experience you can be confident that Lisa from French Flower Style can transform your venue with an array of beautiful quality blooms.”
Capturing every moment on film was talented videographer Airsnap… “We try hard to realize a video which will make sense and which will cause emotions for the newlyweds even after several viewings. The key point in the video editing is the sound. We do everything to make it perfect, which will add intensity to the video. We care about every detail.”
We are now going to pass you over to wedding planner Helaina Storey Wedding Design who will be walking us through todays wedding…
“I had the pleasure of planning this absolutely divine, elegant and simple black tie wedding at Chateau la Durantie, where I married my own husband in 2016 and am now privileged to be the main planner, planning and styling around 20 weddings each year and working alongside the wonderfully talented Lisa of French Flower Style on floral design.”
“Our beautiful Argentinian bride and her very dapper American beau married during a two day event at this stunning venue in early September. There was an accordion player, a very sophisticated and quintessentially French wine and foie gras tasting and a stunning crisp white gown, and that was just the rehearsal dinner!”
“On the wedding day Guillermina and Ben opted for a beautiful church ceremony along a quaint cobbled street in the Dordogne countryside and a very sweet lavender toss which we organised for them for their arrival back at the Chateau for their Champagne reception.
“Ben used his ceremonial sword to open a chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot which created a great atmosphere and worked perfectly (following a very messy first attempt!) and this was poured into our very popular champagne fountain/tower which made a fabulous touch, creating a super spectacle for guests to enjoy and a wonderfully memorable moment for our bride and groom. Guillermina looked stunning with her beaming smile, in an exquisite off-the-shoulder number by bridal designer Ines Di Santo.”
“They dined under the open sky with an intimate banquet table setup, adorned with beautiful classic white blooms in silver footed bowls and their awesome, personalised croquembouche followed the traditional French theme perfectly. The most phenomenal fireworks display topped off their magical evening in a spectacular fashion and we especially loved their La Hora Loca or ‘crazy hour’, a trend originating in South America where everyone goes wild during the party with neon, masks and general joy-filled madness. So much fun!”
“A wedding day oozing more French charm, refined elegance and understated glamour than you could possibly wish for.”
Congratulations Guillermina and Ben from everyone here at French Wedding Style!
