The Dordogne is our location today for an elegant black-tie affair for Madeline and Matthew, for their dream Chateau la Durantie wedding. We also have a first on the blog today as I am so super thrilled to share the beautiful wedding film on Super 8 and 16mm film by Ciné Reportage, the first Super 8 /16mm film to feature on the blog!
The wonderful film by Ciné Reportage complements the beautiful images by Eternal imagining and Will from Ciné Reportage takes us through the wedding day. Will: “La Durantie is one of my favourite venues, tucked away in a rural idyll in the Dordogne, it manages to combine opulence with intimacy and provided the perfect backdrop for Madeline & Matthew’s super-elegant black-tie wedding.
Madeline wore a duo of stunning Amanda Wakely dresses, complimented by bridesmaid’s dresses by Kelsey Rose from NABBD.
Madeline walked down a lavender and tree lined aisle through the gardens to the ceremony under a stone pergola in the grounds. They returned to the terrace with their guests for pink champagne and as the sun went down they moved to a marquee for the wedding breakfast, live music and dancing. After much partying, the night ended with a fully-clothed dip in the swimming pool!
There were so many beautiful moments and details in the day, a couple of my favourites being the pink Champagne pyramids and the Magnums of Moet with the table names spelt out in diamontes which were popped open just in time for the speeches.”
