Castle in the woods wedding shoot

My overactive imagination loves a good escapism fairytale, and what is more romantic than escaping to a castle in the woods for a wedding inspiration shoot!  Today we are off to visit the beautiful Schloss Walchen a small castle located in Austria.

The castle is near the village of Walchen and the castle is named “Schloss Walchen”. Schloss Walchen, built in 1590, is a wonderful silent wedding place, a venue that is famous for the big park with the unique linden-parkway and the museum “Kinderwelt Schloss Walchen” (=Children’s world).   The wonderful setting for today’s inspiration shoot is a family property, but it can be rented for small and big events like weddings, birthday parties and other events.

Stephanie Köpple, Event-Manager and organiser of the shoot partnered up with suppliers from Vienna and Upper-Austria to bring to you a truly romantic escapism dream.

Stephanie says: “Our theme was “fairy fascination” because the venue is such a picturesque place. Our target was not to invent something new – but our goal was to showcase  Austria’s beautiful places and the talented suppliers that we have in Austria.  For the team we choose very soft colours in pink and ivory nuances. The whole decoration equipment and the furniture was traditional Austrian and location from within the castle and featured pieces that are hundreds of years old.

The photographer was Sandra Gehmair. Sandra is Austria´s youngest photograph-campion and a well-known wedding photographer in our country.  The sweet and sour catering was from Moser Cook ‘n’ Cake Box. They are specializing in wedding sweet tables and special requests like: organic, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary requirements.

The beautiful jewellery and headpieces are from Edita Rosenrot and everything from her is handmade and unique. Also the shoes are very special and only designed for our shooting. The company is called “Natalie Rox” – the make customer made shoes.

Also a highlight are the bridesmaid dresses, which are from Twobirds Bridesmaids.

We had 5 models at our shooting. And one really famous – Linda, the bride, was candidate in the Show “Austria’s next topmodel”. One of the bridemaids was also a member at the contest “Voting of Miss Burgenland” – a beauty contest in the federal state Burgenland. And we also had two kids at the set – one with 3 years and one with 7 years. The news Topmodels of the future!”
